This coffee is sourced from METAD, a third-generation, family-owned company behind the renowned Hambela Coffee Estate in Ethiopia. Founded on land granted to Africa’s first female pilot, METAD is now led by Aman Adinew, a former Fortune 500 executive who returned home to drive impact.
Under his leadership, METAD empowers its community with jobs—over 70% held by women—education through a sponsored school, and healthcare for employees. It was the first in Ethiopia to partner with Grounds for Health for cervical cancer screenings and operates Africa’s only private SCAA-certified coffee lab, supporting farmer training and quality excellence across the region.
